Now that I have had a good night sleep I am able to provide a further update on my charity duties. This is the nice basket SUM won as a door prize. Thank you Brenda!

I just got home from the Purina Walk For Guide Dogs. It was held in City Park and I got to meet about 40 other dogs, some with elaborate harnesses. It was fun. The boring part was at the end when SAHD kept getting me to sit and lay down while they drew the door prizes. It was worth the wait as SUM got a BIG basket full of goodies for humans. I got a scarf, a leash and some chew treats thanks to Purina. Plus I drank a full bottle of water. I had fun for a good cause and am looking forward to doing it again next year.

It’s been a great couple of weeks. I drank out of the lake yesterday but no swimming yet. SAHD keeps throwing hunks of ice into my pool-they are fun to get and eat. SUM is finally able to walk and play with me in the yard. There are no more casts or crutches, just one cane and she often doesn’t carry that. We know that the summer season is approaching as this weekend is the long weekend, also known as May 24 or Queen Victoria’s birthday. So SUM decided that I should be a King for a day so….

She will never know how much I hate getting dressed up.

Lets get the important matters out of the way first. HAPPY BIRTHDAY Emma. From your video it looks as if you had a great day. I turned a year old on April 23 and what do I get? A trip to the Doc on the 24th. But I had my check up recently and Doc said I can run and play in the back yard and swim in my own pool now. I have got the running down pat but not the swimming. But that hair growing back there causes a real itch. I am looking forward to having SAHD take me to the lake, I may try it out this year, maybe in another month.

It has been a most interesting winter, it’s my first winter so I really don’t know for sure but that is all my SUM and SAHD talk about…. How much snow we had, how bad the weather was and of course, the ice incident that resulted in my SUM having a cast on her ankle for 6 whole weeks!!! The cast is off now and we even played in the backyard, SUM is using a BIG stick (she calls it a cane) and she won’t let me play with it. SAHD is still taking me for my long walks but SUM sometimes comes along, even if it is only part way.

I have a busy week this next week, I go for grooming on Tuesday, Wednesday is my 1^st birthday and then Thursday, it is off to the vets for what they are calling “getting fixed” I didn’t know that anything was broken but so far, they haven’t done me wrong. Does this mean that I am going to get a cast and cane? I’m just looking forward to the car rides.

Sum did it again with the silly hat. This one is for my birthday, whatever, I just play along. As my good friend Emma says " I am just here for the biscuits". We PWD's will do anything as long as we are well treated, well fed and get our walks in.

Sorry SAHD for keeping you awake last night rattling around in my kennel but you know how it is with dogs and earthquakes. That big one south of us just bothered me too much.

I still get to go for play and walks and although the roads have no snow the dirt on them gets on my paws and around my face. SAHD walks me though a snow bank just before I come in and it is refeshing, I even get to try and eat the towel. But sometimes I just cuddle up cause Mom just needs the company.
