My favorite park that I visit at least 3 times a day. In spite of the dry spell the Girls keep the flowers looking great.

Sorry I have not posted for a while. First it was too wet for the camera. Then the heat wave hit and although I got all my walks in they were shortened up. My water bottle even went with me for my 6 am walks. One morning during a 4 blocker I drank half the bottle. With the heat I have only seen 2 weddings in the park. At the last one the pictures were being taken in the shade. The limo driver was nice and asked if I needed my water bottle refilled. Except for a couple of burs I am doing well. I have not been swimming yet. But I have relatives who did very well (won categories) at the PWDCC National Specialty. Special congrats to my Dad Nemo. The PWDCC published a list of what judges consider a great show dog. I got to play with the tape as all my measurements were taken. I meet all the ratios. It seems I am just big for the breed. Still even at 5 1/2 everybody I meet thinks I am a Puppy.

Two of us had birthday parties last week. I turned 5 and my new friend Daisy turned 3. We must have had good parties as we are both tired. I have not met Daisy in person just through e-mail. SUM will get to meet her this fall when she visits Scotland to visit Daisy's Mom.

Spent some time at my hairdresser this week so had to do a power walk around the neighborhood to show off my new cut. I liked it all and walked with my normal attitude even through the micro burst we walked through. Ya I got wet but I think I sill look good. And I am wearing my new bandanna. Every time I go to my groomer she dresses me with a new one. And except for my first walk (generally in the dark) I wear one and like having it put on, it makes me look stylish. And like allot of the humans in Kingston I wear red on Fridays.

I got my new copy of the Waterlog yesterday. It is my breed newsletter. Included was a supplement of how I should measure up for a show judge. I had lots of fun trying to chew the tape my 2llgd parents tried to measure me with. The end result was I measure up. Yet I am the top end but all the ratios are there. My length to height ratio were perfect. My tail is was the correct length measured against my hocks and my chest is the correct distance off the ground based on my size. My paws seem to meet the criteria but they did not give extra marks for white front socks. Eyes, eyebrows, nose and snout all seem to be perfect to what they describe. But I am at the top of the list in size. I am just in the list in overall size but there is no fat on me, SUM and SAHD make sure of that. Maybe this summer I will do what my breed was meant for-SWIM.

Yes I know I am a Portie. Yet one day a year I allow SUM and SAHD to dress me up so they can show off. Not allow but tolerate.
On a side note still not sure if I cracked a nail or damaged a web. No doc required just some TLC and allot of tea tree oil. A couple of visits to the table for look sees but no hair dryer to blow my paw dry for a better look. I have heard the word OFF several times but the hair on my paw tastes so good. Cannot be too bad as I am not wearing a sock or a plasma bag to protect one my best features. Before I once had to wear one to protect myself on walks. A great tip from my Doc was the plasma bag. Heavy natural rubber and held on with a Velcro strap to keep my paw dry on wet walks. May look funny but the sound it made as I walked was interesting. But I did and still do get all my mileage in. Looking forward to the warm weather and maybe a dry backyard. Plus SUM's broken wing is getting better so she is at the other end of my lead more often. Poor SAHD he gets to be the caddy, carry the water and the bags. And with the weather going the way it is water may soon be a must carry.
